We build from the desert.
The Main Labs is a research-driven financial solutions firm in Phoenix, Arizona. We're early. This is what we're building, and why.
The thesis.
Financial research has two failure modes. Sell-side research is free and conflicted, written to move product. Buy-side research is rigorous and locked in a vault; you never see the method, only the position.
We think there's a third way: solutions built on research done in the open, with the methodology on the record. Conclusions you can check. Assumptions you can argue with. Models that say what they chose and why.
That's what The Main Labs builds, across credit, trading, investments, predictive modeling, and accounting. For funds, banks, and operators who'd rather see the work than take it on faith.
Why Phoenix.
Finance happens in New York, London, Hong Kong. We're in Phoenix on purpose.
Distance from the herd is an analytical advantage. The best work doesn't come from the room where everyone already agrees. It comes from somewhere quieter, where you can think.
The saguaro is the state plant of Arizona. It grows slowly, survives conditions that kill everything around it, and lives for two hundred years. That seemed about right.

We're being honest: The Main Labs is new. Here's what's actually true today.
Research
Two models in development: an adaptive pairs-trading framework combining statistical arbitrage with reinforcement learning, and an options pricing model. Research-stage, written up as working notes, not yet published, and not in production.
Product
Stoic Labs, our first product, is in pilot. An accounting plugin bringing institutional-grade analytics to the books firms already keep.
Partners
We're working with RoosterWise and The Accounting Company, both Phoenix-rooted, on the data and analytics layer. Early, but real.
What's next.
A fairness-aware credit modeling framework. Broader release of Stoic Labs. The first public write-ups of our methodology. More partners who know their industries from the floor up.
We'd rather show you what we're building than pretend it's already finished.
The founder.
Om, also known as Main, founded The Main Labs to build the kind of financial solutions he wanted to use and couldn't find: independent, methodology-first, unafraid to state an opinion. He works at the intersection of economics, finance, and mathematics, with a focus on systematic methods: statistical arbitrage, options pricing, and credit modeling.
He builds under the name Main, and prefers the work to speak first.
